Ethiopia has cancelled plans to play friendly games against Morocco and Tanzania.

The Ethiopia Football Federation says the planned friendly games have been cancelled due to technical reasons.

EFF said they will not play Tanzania because they did not believe the Taifa Stars would be a big challenge for Ethiopia because they did not qualify for the 2013 Africa Cup.

And Ethiopia are said to have backed out of plans to play Morocco to avoid fatigue and injuries as they approach kickoff of the 2013 Africa Cup on January 19.

Ethiopia has already played one build-up match against Niger on December 30 that the Walia Antelopes won 1-0 in Addis Ababa.

The Walia Antelopes have two scheduled friendly games this week against Guinea and Tunisia.
