Issiar Dia
Senegal, despite bowing out of the Africa Nations Cup after just two matches, actually dominated Equatorial Guinea for long periods of time in tonight’s match.
The Teranga Lions’ Issah Dia was MTNFootball.com’s man-of-the-match for his great showing, despite the 2-1 loss in Bata.
The midfielder orchestrated things from the start and kept asking questions of the Equatorial Guinea defence and midfield.
Silky skills and great technique are accompanied by the stamina to run all day or night, and that is just what Dia did.
It was a bitterly disappointing night for Senegal, with all their big name players now exiting the tournament way too early for most people’s liking.
But while many hoped for the likes of Sow, Ba, Niang and Cisse to bring the fireworks, it was Dia who made the strongest contribution on one of Senegal’s worst nights in history.

Poor Senegal. I hoped for them to win the cup!
