Tournament Review:
Jemaa did not play as much as he would have liked at the 2012 Afcon.
Still, in his135 minutes on the field he did manage to find the back of the net once with a superb finish. Given more opportunities he could have scored more goals.
Pre-Tournament Profile:
The all-time record scorer for Tunisia’s national football team, Issam Jemaa is easily the Carthage Eagles’ most dangerous forward.
The 27-year-old, who started out his career at Esperance, has plied his trade in France for the last half a decade and is presently on the books of Ligue 1 club Auxerre.
The Gabes-born player isa reliable goal scorer at international level and this is the fourth successive time he has been included in Tunisia’s squad for an Africa Cup of Nations tournament, having played at the 2006, 2008 and 2010 editions.
