Tournament Review:
Sow made just two appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations; he started one match, and came off the bench on the other occasion.
In the 113 minutes he played he managed to score on one occasion.
Pre-Tournament Profile:
After starting off at FC Mantes and Amiens SC, Moussa Sow only became recognised at Stade Rennais between 2004 and 2010.
Despite his talents as striker already having being shown off in the Breton club’s colours, the competition of Asamoah Gyan and Ismael Bangoura who arrived at Rennes in the 2009 summer primed Sow’s departure for Lille OSC in June 2010.
The following season saw the striker winning both the Cup and the Championship and finishing as best striker of the Ligue 1 with 25 goals.
He represented France’s U19 and junior teams, but finally chose to represent Senegal and would represent his country for the first time in 2009 against Congo.
He has since become one of the Lions’ powerful regulars and has already scored five goals for the team.
