Tournament Review:
Defender Mahamadou N’Diaye made just one start for Mali at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, racking up 90 minutes of playing time.
Pre-Tournament Profile:
Mahamadou Ndiaye is a newcomer to the Mali national team set-up but there is great hope that he will be a regular in defence for the Eagles in years to come.
The 21-year-old centre-back started his career at Tontien Bamako before earning a move to Moroccan super club Wydad Casablanca in 2009.
His performances in North Africa soon caught the eye of Portugal’s Vitoria and he signed with them in 2010. This will be his first participation at an Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
