Tournament Review:
Dede Ayew proved to be one of Ghana’s main threats in attack during the 2012 Afcon tournament.
Not only was he influential in midfield with his defence splitting passes, but he scored twice as well – his first, the second goal against Mali in Ghana’s second group match to secure victory and his second goal, an extra time goal in the 101st minute against Tunisia which took Ghana into the semifinal.
He played in all of Ghana’s games during the tournament and will be happy with his performances.
Pre-Tournament Profile:
At age 22, he will make a third straight appearance at the AFCON finals. Ayew's header sent Ghana to the last eight at the 2010 finals.
He is regarded as one of the key players for the Black Stars.
His form for Marseille in the domestic league and Europe should make him fearful for most teams.
