Tournament Review:
Iban Iyanga wasa hugely creative force for Equatorial Guinea at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, providing width and pace down the left flank.
The midfielder played three of the co-hosts’ four matches, missing the 1-0 defeat to Zambia due to suspension, having picked up two yellow cards in the wins over Libya and Senegal.
Pre Tournament Profile:
Iban Iyanga Travieso, or simply ‘Randy’, was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain, but has an Equatorial Guinean father and so can play for the national side.
The winger plays for the Las Palmas club in the Spanish second-tier, where he is a regular with the side. He also had a spell with third-tier Mirandés on loan. After initially turning down requests to play for Equatorial Guinea, he made his debut for the side in October 2010.
