Manucho brace ends Zimbabwe’s AFCON dreams
Manucho
The Real Valladolid and ex-Manchester United striker scored both his goals in the first five minutes of the opening 45 minutes in Luanda on Sunday.
Manucho was on target in the 3rd and 5th minutes to stun Zimbabwe and crush their hopes of a third-ever Africa Cup appearance.
Zimbabwe, however, did try to mount a fight back led by their inspirational striker Knowledge Musona who missed the Warriors 3-1 first leg win due to injury.
But Angola kept calm against Zimbabwean pressure who were also hoping to end a six-year absence from the tournament.
Angola almost added a third two minutes after the hour-mark through Mateus, but he failed to beat Ariel sibanda from point-blank range.
Victory and qualification is even more sweeter for Angola's new Uruguayan- born coach Gustavo Ferrín who is just three games old on the job following the 53-year-olds appointment in July.
