Ethiopia through
Ethiopia progressed to the next round on the away goals rule after drawing 0-0 with Benin in the first leg.
But it wasn’t all smiles for the Ehtiopians as they went behind in the 20th minute after Michael Pote gave Benin the lead after latching onto a fine through ball from Babatunde Bello.
Pote made no mistake with a clinical finish to give his side a glimpse of the next Afcon qualifying round, but that was snuffed out by Girma seconds before the half time break.
The Ethiopian player controlled the ball well on the penalty spot, turned and fired home in some style to draw his side level.
The second half saw neither side really impress in front of goal, but Ethiopia were able to hold on for the draw and hence qualified for the next round on the away goals rule.
