Cameroon edge past Guinea-Bissau
Stephane Mbia
Cameroon have edged into the final phase of qualifying for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations with a narrow 1-0 victory tiny Guinea-Bissau on Saturday.
It gives the Indomitable Lions a 2-0 aggregate victory, but their bluntness in attack was again exposed and without the banned Samuel Eto’o, they have battled to score once again.
It looked as though they would not find the back of the net in this game either, until Benjamin Moukandjo scored on 81 minutes from a left wing cross by Yannick Ndjeng.
Stephane Mbia misses the ball at the near post and Moukandjo was able to control and strike the ball home.
Having missed out on the 2012 finals in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, Cameroon fans will be desperate for their side to find some form in the final round of qualification and book their place in South Africa next year.
