– Good afternoon and welcome to the Civo Stadium in Lilongwe where Malawi hosts Ghana in this all important second leg match of the final qualifier for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
– The Black Stars, the favourites of this tie come into the game with a vital 2-0 advantage secured in the first leg game played last month in Accra.
– However the Flames have vowed to overturn the score to qualify for the finals which takes place in early next year in South Africa.
– The atmosphere here at the Civo Stadium is simply electrifying with a sea of red in the stands.
– Sudanese Abdulrahman Khalid will handle this game as the center referee and is ably assisted by compatriots Ahmed Ali Waleed and Hamid Mohamed Idam on the lines.
– Adam Ahmed Hashim is the fourth official with South African Ian McLeod serving as the match commissioner.
– Teams out observing the national anthems
– Teams exchanchange pleasantries before observing a minute of silence in memory of Malawi's legendary coach Henry Moyo who died on Friday.

5’ – Perfect start for the Black Stars and now Malawi has to score four goals to oust Ghana.
6’ – Ghana not overrawd by the atmosphere here as they keep possession well.
7’ – Black Stars clear their lines well through John Paintsil.
8’ – Ghana still with the possession but Malawi recover from Moses Chivula but Ghana takes charge again.
9’ – Kwarasey punches clear from a feroocious strike from deep.Corner to Malawi.
10’ – Corner wasted as ball goes out for a goal kick to Ghana.
11’ – Gyan tries to dance his way through the Malawi defence but he is stopped in his tracks.
12’ – Ghana threatens again through another corner kick as Gyan gets his head to it but it goes wide to the relief of the Malawi defence.
13’ – The Flames seem to be struggling with the long balls especially from set pieces.
14’ – Chimango takes a shot inside the Ghana penlaty area but his strike goes horribly wide.
15’ – Malawi struggling to get going against the more experienced Ghana side. Peharps the enormous home pressure having an adverse effect on the team.
16’ – Andre Ayew draws an intelligent free kick from inside his own half.
17’ – Another shot taken from deep but again it goes horribly wide. The Flames very erratic in their shooting this afternoon.
18’ – Tackles flying in now, Malawi getting increasingly frustrated as Kwamendo goes in with a nasty lunge on Afriyie Acquah but he escapes a booking.
19’ – Ghana now has a corner to defend. Taken by Kwamendo but cleared.
20’ – Ayew gives away a free kick by fouling his marker in the air.
21’ – Malawi in with a chance but Boye comes in with a big boot to concede a corner kick.

24’ – Malawi begining to string passes together but are rarely threatening.
25’ – Gyan turns well but ball whacked away by his marker.
26’ – A chance for Ghana to grab a second but Atsu sends his strike wide. A glorious chance gone begging.
27’ – The Flames now coming into the game but Ghana's defence remain resolute.
28’ – John Boye needs medical attention, seems to have picked an injury in an early clearance.
29’ – Kamwendo with the ball but loses it and Malawi retake possession.
30’ – Kanyenda bundles his way through the Ghana defence but the final delivery was poor.
31’ – Paintsil concedes a foul just outside the Ghana penalty area but the decision rather goes the other way.

35’ – Ghana a bit under pressure but they have acquitted themselves very well so far.
36’ – Chagoma in possession for Malawi but the Flames' final delivery is very poor to say the least.
38’ – Afriyie Acquah tracks back to clear and now Ghana can counter.
39’ – Gyan brought down but referee says play on, should have been a foul.
40’ – Malawi start an attack from teh rear but Ghana still not budging.
41’ – Gyan wins a free kick just outside the Malawi penalty area.
42’ – Ayew takes but goalkeeper Nthara was equal to the task.
43’ – Ghana wins a corner through the tireless effort of Andre Ayew.
44’ – Ayew whips the ball across but Gyan's connection was poor and the chance is gone.
45’ – Kwarasey quickly resumes a Ghana attack and Annan is fouled. But referee still issues no card.

57’ – Malawi making a headway but the covering Afful clears with a big boot.

66’ – A wild clearance by John Boye, coach Appiah signalling him to calm down.

70’ – Malawi can now break from their defensive shell but their build up is very slow.
72’ – Throw-in to Ghana as yet again the game goes through a very patchy phase.

75’ – Atsu fails to find Gyan with his pass.
76’ – The Black Stars struggling to keep hold of possession.

79’ – Atsu fouled on the far side and not quite surprising, referee keeps his cards to himself.
81’ – Ball floated into the Ghana area but the very gallant defence deal with it.
82’ – Atsu hacked down quite synically but referee just gives a foul and nothing more.
83’ – Gyan battling to rewtain possession but loses out.
84’ – Gyan in but his touch lets him down and the chance fizzles out.

87’ – Ghana concedes a corner kick as the last touch came off Isaac Vorsah
88’ – Fans of Malawi still in a partying mood despite going down.
89’ – Malawi controlling possession but clearly it is too little too late for the Flames.

90 + 1’ – Annan drives a shot from wide but hardly troubles the goalkeeper.
90 + 2’ – Waris unable to shake off his marker and loses out.
90 + 3’ – Atsu syrges forward and falls in the process but no foul there.
90 + 5’ – The referee blows the whistle for Full Time.

This explains why some foreign based players are reluctant to play in Africa.

What sort of referees do we have in the African game. This is disappointing, I believe he left his cards in the change room otherwise this is a disgrace to the development the African game.
